So you find yourself standing in front of the freezer section gazing at the most desirable ice cream that you could imagine. It could be Haagen-Dazs midnight cookies and cream, the luxuriously creamy Cornish ice cream from England  or any one of the many delicious delights that are available waiting and tempting before your eyes. Oh the choice.

You finally decide, take a tub and get to the checkout as quickly as possible. It must not melt or it will be ruined. It’s a very crucial time.

Fast forward to the evening. All is quiet and you are by yourself. It’s time to open that prize treat that you carefully selected earlier; it’s going to be heaven. Shiny spoon in hand you step to the door of the freezer and open it. The tub is there just waiting for you now sparkling with small ice crystals in the light. The lid opens with a soft pop and you see the crisp, untouched and pristine ice cream for the first time. A small wisp of vapour rises as cold meets with warm. Heaven is getting closer.

 

But then you remember the ever present problem – it’s cold, so cold, so wonderfully cold. As usual a tea towel is needed otherwise fingers will become uncomfortably cold as well.
